You call a spirit that takes the form of a loyal mount. It appears in an unoccupied space of your choice within range, wearing a form you choose: use the Otherworldly Dust Jackal, Otherworldly Gray Gryphon, or Otherworldly Obsidian Charger stat block. If you already have a mount from this spell, the new casting replaces it.
The mount serves you as a willing steed, and the two of you can speak with each other through its telepathy.
Combat. The mount is an ally to you and your allies. In combat, it shares your Initiative count and acts during your turn. While you ride it, the mount moves as you direct it. Whether ridden or not, the only action it takes is the Dodge action unless you take a Bonus Action to command it to take an action from its stat block. If you have the Incapacitated condition, the mount acts on its own and focuses on protecting you.
The Spell's Level. The mount's stat block reads the spell's level everywhere it appears: its Armor Class, Hit Points, and damage grow with it. Some of its abilities exist only from the spell level named in their first sentence, so a higher-level slot wakes more of the mount.
Disappearance. The mount disappears if it drops to 0 Hit Points or if you die. It leaves behind anything it was wearing or carrying. When you cast this spell again, you decide whether you call the same mount or a different one.
Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. Use the spell slot's level for the spell's level in the mount's stat block.
